Anti Piracy hardening audit for specialist oilfield service vessel

Scenario:

An Operator of specialist Oilfield vessels required an experienced team to undertake a specialist security audit prior to the vessel repositioning from SE Asia to the Mediterranean via the Malacca strait and the Gulf of Aden

Threat:

The ongoing threat of piracy in the Malacca strait, Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden.

Conclusion:

IMSA deployed a 2 man team of commercial maritime security specialists, men with time served apprenticeships in maritime security. A comprehensive anti piracy hardening audit was undertaken backed up by a comprehensive set of recommendations being made in the formal report. A 4 man team of Maritime Security Liaison Officers (MSLO) were stood by to provide security onboard the vessel when the vessel transited.
