CSO Course

A Company Security Officer (CSO) is the person designated by a Company to ensure that a Ship Security Assessment is carried out; that a Ship Security Plan is developed, submitted for approval, and thereafter implemented and maintained; and for liaison with Port Facility Security Officers and the Ship Security Officer.

In accordance with the requirements of the ISPS Code Part B Article 13.1 for such officers to be trained, IMSA Ltd offers a Company Security Officer Course which is conducted by MCA & TRANSEC accredited trainers with many years of maritime security experience behind them.

Course Aim

The aim of this MCA approved training programme is to provide company officers and managers with the knowledge and skills to carry out his/her duties as a designated Company Security Officer (CSO) in accordance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. In particular, he or she will be able to:

  • To implement and maintain Ships Security Plans
  • To motivate and train Company and Ship personnel in the performance of security related duties
  • To monitor Ship’s Security Officers, security systems and processes

Company management personnel who have been, or are likely to be, appointed as Company Security Officers under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS Code).
